Please reserve your child(ren) a spot at our program by calling 336-4721 at least one day BEFORE the program. The day of the program is nuts! We need to devote our attention to checking materials in and out, hosting programs and giving out reading logs and prizes. Not making more reservations and running them downstairs before the next program!
We will take reservations on MONDAY for the FOLLOWING week.
Please cancel if your child will not be able to attend.
Our meeting room has a finite capacity set by the Fire Marshall. If we are using tables for crafts, then we really have to limit the number of attendees at each session.
Our Unattended Child Policy is on our website along with our policies for kids attending programming with parents.
Everyone, including youth, are expected use library manners and to follow our Patron Responsibility Policy.
Parents and caregivers, this is your opportunity to allow your child to shine! Throw AR points out the window and let your child soar. Let them select reading materials based on what they enjoy! Let them read silly books, nonfiction books or even joke books that make the family groan! Let them read above their reading level or revisit their favorite reads. Just let them make fun choices that will instill a love of reading!
Bringing your child to the library will also give them the opportunity to increase their reading level over the summer. If they aren't reading, they will lose reading skills. Scholastic has published an article on the the topic of the dreaded "Summer Slide." Keep your kid reading to improve their literacy skills!
Children will log their reading time by minutes. We can accommodate special reading needs.
Once children log a preset amount of time, they can return their reading log for a prize.
Reading time and prizes will vary by age group.
Children and families ages 0-11 can attend these weekly programs. We highly encourage you to call to signup BEFORE the day of the program, due to supply and staffing purposes.
